Tip_1=After doing a database update, go into Edit mode and select 'hide assigned files' to show all files that don't have any attributes. Then assign them some! Otherwise they'll never come up as a hit when you do a search!
Tip_2=Visited the Xequte web site recently? There may be new software releases or updates. Click Help | Go to the Xequte Site.
Tip_3=Backed up your database recently? Think of all the time you have invested in setting it up! Why not incorporate it into your regular back-up plan or copy the database to an alternative drive.
Tip_4=Can't quite see all the filename information in the status bar? Hover your mouse over it for a full display.
Tip_5=Click the 'Window' Menu item for a list of all your current image windows. Select one to display it.
Tip_6=Confused by Smart Pix using separate settings for Fast, Toolbar and Status bar display in Normal and Full-screen mode? Select 'Use same settings in Normal and Full-screen mode' under Options.
Tip_7=Curious to know more about your Smart Pix database. Select Database | Database Info to see your statistics.
Tip_8=Afraid Smart Pix's secure database image storage method will make your viewing slower? Don't be! Smart Pix can load images from its database just as quickly as directly from the hard drive.
Tip_9=It's the gifts you give to your loved ones when they don't expect it that show your true feelings!
Tip_10=When using multiple image windows, press Shift+W to quickly display the main Smart Pix window.
Tip_11=How often do you really use the menu? Why not hide it (Ctrl+M) to save screen real estate.
Tip_12=If Smart Pix keeps telling you it can't find the specified file, perhaps it is about time you updated your database?
Tip_13=If you are only seeking images of a single attribute just double-click it and the search will be performed.
Tip_14=If you are using database image storage make sure you repack your database (in the update function) every few weeks to clear out the space occupied by deleted entries.
Tip_15=If you have a number of very different image collections, such as 'Cars' and 'Rugby Heroes' use a separate database for each one. This keeps it more organised and makes finding the images you want so much easier.
Tip_16=If you have made changes to files or directories in other programs while you are running Smart Pix you may need to press the F5 key to update the display in Disk Browse Mode.
Tip_17=If you move or rename one of your source directories don't delete all the file references and re-enter them. Just click the 'relocate' button in Options, source directories and tell Smart Pix Manager where you have moved it.
Tip_18=If you often have lots of image windows open, you can close them all quickly just by clicking 'Close all image windows' or Ctrl+W
Tip_19=If your computer is a little slow, instead of bookmarking images that you want to return to, open them in a new image window ('N' key) and browse between all your open windows with the 'W' key.
Tip_20=In Disk Browse mode, clicking on the directory display with the right mouse button will give you a selection of directory management functions.
Tip_21=Instead of cursing next time Smart Pix annoys you, send us an e-mail and tell us how you think it should work!
Tip_22=Is your image collection getting too large? Try converting your images to JPEG format at about 75% compression. They will probably be much smaller than the originals with little noticeable difference in image quality.
Tip_23=No matter where you go, people are basically the same; the same desires and the same fears. Look for those aspects you have in common with the people you meet rather than dwelling on your differences.
Tip_24=If an image is taking too long to load, you cancel it by clicking the stop button!
Tip_25=If an image storage conversion fails because you run out of disk space, don't panic! Simply free up a bit of space and do the conversion again. Smart Pix will ignore those files that have already been converted.
Tip_26=Often perform the same search? Why not bookmark all the hits and save it as a bookmark file. It is quicker to select a bookmark file than re-perform your searches.
Tip_27=Often edit your images? Specify the location of your editor under Options, then you can launch the current image into it with the 'E' key.
Tip_28=Plant a tree! When all the rain forest has been chopped down you can cling to yours for oxygen.
Tip_29=Remember your kids probably understand more about your computer than you realise. If you have some 'Adult' pictures store them in the database and enable password access.
Tip_30=To hide your images from less advanced users try converting your images to a changed extension. Smart Pix will automatically give all your images a new extension such as '.DLL'. Less advanced users will not know how to view them.

Tip_39=Want to quickly change your 'Shrink to fit' or 'Stretch to fit' zoom options? Click on the box in the very left-hand side of the status bar.
Tip_40=Want to quickly create a new directory when moving or copying a file? Simply type the desired directory into the destination directory box. Smart Pix will advise you that it can't find the directory and ask if you want to create it.
Tip_41=When adding attributes don't worry if some of the selected files already have that attribute. Smart Pix knows not to try and add the same attribute to a file twice.
Tip_42=When browsing your images why not use the 'Fast' button so they display quicker. You can then switch to full-screen mode for those you want to view or launch them in a new image window.
Tip_43=When deleting, renaming, moving or copying files that are also in your database, make sure you do it in View or Edit mode, that way Smart Pix will update the reference in the database at the same time.
Tip_44=When removing an attribute don't worry if not all of the files you have selected have that attribute. Smart Pix will just ignore the files without it, and remove it from those that have it.
Tip_45=Why not add the attribute 'Best' to all your favourite files. If you select this attribute when performing a search your favourite files should rank higher than others.
Tip_46=Wondering what the '+' or '-' means in the left hand side of your status bar? These indicate that you have 'Stretch to fit' or 'Shrink to fit' enabled.
Tip_47=You can add attributes even in View mode! Simply select the files, then click anywhere in the 'Current Attributes' area with the right mouse button. Select the 'Add' option and click on the attribute you want to assign.
Tip_48=You can quickly hide the toolbar or status bar by double-clicking on it. Press Esc to reset all your display settings.

Tip_50=Curious about the 'Changed Extension' and 'Database Storage' image storage methods but not ready to go all out? Why not create a new database, add a few files to it and try out all the different methods.
Tip_51=Smart Pix supports multiple selection! Why perform an action twice when you can select both items and do it at the same time.
Tip_52=Not sure of the keyboard shortcuts? Hover the mouse over the buttons. The equivalent keyboard shortcut is displayed in square brackets.

Tip_57=Worried about forgetting your password and not being able to access your database? Back-up a version that does not require a password and restore it if you forget.

Tip_59=Try changing the sort order of your database in View or Edit mode to the one that is best for you. Smart Pix will remember your preferred settings.
Tip_60=If you like Smart Pix tell your friends about it. As the number of registered users increases, the more development time we can justify and the better the product will be.
Tip_61=If you use different CD-ROM's with Smart Pix, set a descriptive drive name for each CD under 'Source Directories'. Then if you try to view a file on a CD that is not loaded Smart Pix will tell you which CD you need to insert.
Tip_62=If you are using 'Fast' Smart Pix displays the amount of image information that was removed in the status bar after the filename, e.g. Fast=Halved means half the information was discarded so the image could be loaded twice as quickly.
Tip_63=Learn the keyboard shortcuts it will make your Smart Pix experience much easier.
Tip_64=You can easily remove attributes from your files in View mode. With your files selected simply click with the right mouse button on the attribute you want to remove (in the 'Current Attributes' area) and select the 'Remove' option.
Tip_65=If you are using multiple databases that access the same files, remember that both databases need to be using either 'Normal' storage or the same 'Changed Extension'.
Tip_66=If you want to convert your image storage method but are short on disk space, toggle the conversion settings to those that are most optimal.
Tip_67=The default settings for Database Updates are the recommended ones. Update your database often to keep it aligned with your directories.
